New Croydon-Technology blog

Postzon grid reference to Lat & Long Coordinates

Thanks to the hairy-spider who supplied the c# code to turn Grid reference Easting's and Northing's into Latitude and Longitude coordinates.

When using Postzon data add a zero to the end of the 5 digit reference as it is accurate to 100m not 10m. There are additional complications because the Northern Ireland easting's and northing's are given from a different starting point and in some data feeds, the easting and northing fields only allow a for five digit reference number when six are required for the most northerly locations. ASP.NET 3.5/ ASP.NET AJAX!

We have been looking into the exciting new functionality offered by ASP.NET 3.5 (the latest in web development from Microsoft). In particular we are looking forward to using ASP.NET AJAX on our next project, which allows smooth interaction between client and server without the unsightly page refresh.

Catch up!

Since our last update we have been busy with several new websites, creating search engine optimisation plans and Google advertising campaigns. On top of this we have been working on a brand new ASP.NET, MSSQL (apologies for the jargon!) internet website for a national company. This creative, interactive website is currently being tested with the client but we will keep you posted with the latest developments and provide more information when we are able to!
